After hundreds of grinds, the Ode's burrs shift gradually -- microscopically, barely measurable, but enough that flavor changes. Setting 3 no longer produces the same result as your first week. That is when recalibration is needed.
Calibration brings the Ode back to true zero: setting 1 is genuinely the finest grind without jamming. The process involves removing the adjustment ring, resetting burr position, and reassembling from scratch. It sounds technical, but the video guides each step -- anyone can do it in 15 minutes.
